The Law Center’s Brian Nelson–a survivor of over a decade at Tamms supermax prison is interviewed with Dick Gordon on The Voice. He describes in detail his soujorn through the hellhole of Illinois’ supermax prison–Tamms Correctional Center.
Brian’s story is powerful. He was a minimum security prisoner assigned to the tailor shop, where he would repair officer’s clothing, and then take them out (unescorted) to an officer’s car, unlock the car, put the clothing inside, and then lock the car and return to the prison. The next day, he was shackled, and sent to Tamms Supermax, with no disciplinary report, no notice, and given no reason why he was transferred.
He then describes his decade in a supermax in detail.
